About (Chapter Two)

I started this food and exercise blog back in January to help me get ready for my daughter’s wedding.  She got married this past Saturday, June 16, 2012, and WOW!  Did those months pass by at warp speed!

I honestly believe that posting every single bite of food I put in my mouth helped me to curb my sometimes out-of-control snacking and general overeating.  I did manage to lose 14 pounds, four more than I originally intended, and I hope to keep them off.  I think I want to set a new goal now, something in the not-too-distant future that requires me to be as fit as I’ve ever been.  Maybe I’ll sign up for a 10K and then even a half-marathon!  I have never run a race longer than 5K before, but I feel certain a 10K is more than doable, and I really like the idea of sporting one of those 13.1 stickers on my back window for finishing a half-marathon.

Probably, I won’t be posting every single day like I did before, only occasionally as the mood hits, but knowing that I have the option and can blog about my adventures, successes, major flub-ups, and anything else helps to keep me honest and on the (semi) straight-and-narrow.  I think I’ll google some local upcoming races now…
